In my region, Alsace, traditional cooking is not always very healthy : too fatty, too much cold meats! The dishes are hearty, adapted to a harsh climate! But currently, we Alsatians, we know how to adapt the recipes of our grandmothers to make healthy and nevertheless delicious dishes: for example sauerkraut, but with fish, or in turnovers in brick sheets.
