Terms / Conditions générales
The practical terms for private individuals considering a Brida Table membership or Pineapple Table.
1. Who provides the service
Brida is operated by Frank Peters, Micro-entreprise / entrepreneur individuel, 3 rue des Vignes, 67160 Cleebourg, France, SIRET 75312464300010. Contact: frank@peters-langues.fr.
2. Brida Table membership
Brida Tables are live, hosted online conversations in English for private individuals. Membership is a monthly flat-rate programme built around one weekly chair, normally four or five chairs in a calendar month depending on how the weekdays fall. Tables are usually about 60 minutes and English is the shared language, not a taught subject.
The minimum membership period is one month. Membership renews automatically month by month until cancelled. Payment is collected through PayPal on the recurring billing date. A participant may stop future renewal at any time using the online cancellation page or by contacting Brida. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid monthly period.
3. Pineapple Tables
Pineapple Tables are one-off curated conversations and do not require membership. Each chair costs €50 for one specific Table. Prices are set and invoiced in euros (EUR). Expressing interest does not reserve a chair: Brida confirms participation first, then issues an invoice. Payment is due within 7 days of confirmation, or before the Table where the Table takes place sooner. There is no automatic renewal; you may return whenever another Table catches your attention.
4. Price and country of residence
Brida Tables have a standard European rate of €80 per person per month, with regional access rates of €70, €60, €50 or €45 per month for selected countries. All Brida prices are set and charged in euros (EUR), including for participants whose home country uses another currency. The applicable regional rate is based on the participant's genuine country of residence, selected by the participant, not on IP geolocation. Where a PayPal account, card or bank account uses another currency, the payment provider may convert the EUR amount and may apply its own exchange rate or conversion charge. Brida does not set or control that conversion. The participant should review the final converted amount shown by the payment provider before confirming payment. The total EUR price payable to Brida, including any applicable taxes, is shown or confirmed before a contract is concluded. Existing members may retain an earlier individually agreed legacy price.
5. What the website form does
Submitting the current Brida membership-interest form is not a purchase and does not itself create a paid subscription. A contract is formed only after Brida confirms the Table, normal weekly schedule, applicable monthly EUR price and other essential terms and the participant explicitly accepts them. Brida Table payments are then collected through PayPal as a recurring monthly payment. If PayPal or another payment method converts the charge into a local currency, any exchange rate or conversion fee is determined by that provider, not by Brida.
6. Right of withdrawal for distance contracts
When a consumer concludes a service contract at a distance, a 14-day withdrawal right normally applies from the date the contract is concluded. If the participant asks Brida to begin the service during that period, Brida must obtain the legally required express request and provide the relevant information about any proportionate amount due for service already performed. Where the law allows the withdrawal right to be lost after full performance, that requires the consumer's prior express consent and acknowledgement. A withdrawal request can be sent through the cancellation / withdrawal page.
7. Scheduling, absence and changes
Brida confirms the normal weekly time before membership begins. The monthly fee is a flat-rate programme fee rather than a per-session charge. Most months provide four or five weekly chairs, but the exact rhythm can vary with the calendar. If a participant misses an available Table because of work, holidays, illness, diary conflicts or another personal reason, that missed chair does not create an automatic refund, replacement or credit.
European programme calendar. Brida Tables operate across many countries and cannot follow every participant's national or public-holiday calendar. The programme follows Brida's published operating calendar. There may therefore be a quieter week because of a public holiday or seasonal closure affecting Brida even when it is a normal working day where the participant lives, and Brida may operate on days that are public holidays in the participant's own country. Christmas/New Year, Easter and other holiday-heavy periods are part of the flat-rate annual rhythm, so the monthly subscription price remains unchanged. Planned closures or reduced schedules will be communicated in advance where reasonably possible.
If Brida materially fails to provide the programme beyond that normal published rhythm, Brida will offer a reasonable replacement, credit, refund or other appropriate remedy. Table composition may change because people become unavailable; no specific participant mix is guaranteed.
8. Participation
Brida Tables rely on active, respectful participation. They are not sales pitches, therapy, political campaigning or English examinations. Brida may intervene or end participation where behaviour seriously disrupts the Table, threatens another participant or makes a safe hosted conversation impossible.
9. Notes, transcripts and The Pineapple
A Table is not automatically publication material. Brida may use host notes and, for some Tables, may use meeting transcription or similar tools to support continuity or editorial follow-up. Participants must be informed in advance when such processing is used. Audio or video recording is not implied by joining a Table. Any publication in The Pineapple remains a separate editorial act and must have an appropriate basis for using identifiable personal material.
10. Technical conditions
Participants need a working internet connection, suitable device, microphone and a reasonably quiet environment. Brida is not responsible for failures caused solely by the participant's equipment, internet service or third-party outage, but will act reasonably where a wider service problem prevents a Table from taking place.
11. Cancellation
The online cancellation facility is available directly at Cancel membership / Résilier. A Brida Table cancellation stops the next renewal and takes effect at the end of the current paid monthly period. Monthly payments already made are not refunded or recalculated merely because a participant changes their mind, stops attending or does not use every available chair, subject always to any mandatory statutory rights. No pro-rata refund is due for unused days or missed Tables. The confirmation provided to the participant will state the effective end date.
For a confirmed Pineapple Table chair, any mandatory statutory withdrawal right remains unaffected. Once any applicable withdrawal right has expired, a participant changing their mind or becoming unavailable does not by itself create a refund entitlement. If Brida cancels a Pineapple Table and cannot offer an acceptable replacement, Brida will refund the chair price.
12. Complaints and consumer mediation
Please contact Brida first at frank@peters-langues.fr so that a complaint can be addressed directly.
Pre-launch item: Brida must appoint a referenced consumer mediator and publish that mediator's contact details here before paid consumer memberships are opened.
The former European Commission Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform is not referenced here because it was discontinued in July 2025.
13. Law
French law applies to Brida's terms, without depriving a consumer resident in another country of mandatory consumer protections that apply to that consumer. Jurisdiction follows the rules applicable to the individual dispute; these terms do not impose an exclusive French court where consumer law provides otherwise.
